All railway data displayed on this website is sourced from publicly available information and open data sources. Rail Tracker does not have access to any proprietary or internal railway databases. This website is intended for informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for official IRCTC services for ticket booking, cancellation, or refund-related queries.

1. Information We Collect

Rail Tracker is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary to provide the service:

  • Search queries: When you search for a train number, PNR, station code, or route, this information is sent to our backend server to fetch the relevant railway data. These queries are not permanently stored or linked to any personal identity.
  • Session data: We use browser sessionStorage to cache search results locally on your device. This data is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab and is never sent to any third party.
  • Usage analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand overall traffic patterns, popular pages, and device types. This data is aggregated and anonymised.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
  • We do not require user registration or login to use any feature.
  • We do not store PNR numbers, ticket details, or passenger information on our servers beyond the time needed to serve the API response.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

Rail Tracker uses browser sessionStorage (not persistent cookies) to cache API responses locally for performance optimisation. This means:

  • Cached data is stored only in your browser tab's memory.
  • It is automatically deleted when you close the tab.
  • No tracking cookies are set by Rail Tracker itself.

If we integrate third-party services (such as Google AdSense or Google Analytics) in the future, those services may set their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

4. Third-Party Services

Rail Tracker may use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics: For anonymised, aggregated traffic analysis.
  • Google AdSense: For displaying advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.
  • Vercel: For website hosting and deployment.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them independently.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed through our service. All API communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Rail Tracker does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
